chicken wings dry rub

Ingredients

  • - 1 tablespoon paprika
  • - 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • - 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for spice level
  • - 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • - 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine all the dry rub ingredients: paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, thyme, and oregano. Mix well until evenly combined.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This will help the rub adhere better and create a crispy texture when cooked.
  • Generously coat the chicken wings with the dry rub, making sure to cover all sides. You can use your hands to massage the rub into the meat for maximum flavor.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack for better airflow.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they're golden brown and crispy. An internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) should be reached.
